“the girl in the tub” - 3/1/2023

Running her fingertips across the rim of the tub she felt something unexpected.

Her finger pads danced across the white ceramic, ever so slightly lifting themselves off its edge every now and then - never once completing a straight line around the tub.

When she looked slightly she had expected to find something smooth; a once pristine tub now blemished with grey, presumed to be old water spots.

The softness of her thoughts cut short as the delicate touch of damp skin to flat ceramic stumbled. Even with her wilted finger tips she could make out the grooves.

It was at this moment her realisation came into focus... Upon close inspection the slightly darker spots were discovered to be the underlaying layer of the ceramic below. - An outer layer, similar to the candy shell on a piece of chocolate, which had begun to chip away (probably due to its oldness & general west & tear) revealed its two colors; the one below and one on top.

A weak smile forced on her face, all suddenly making the aura of the tub feel substantially real.
