*a poem by me

I have a fondness for blowing out candles.

It holds a poetic touch to its physical action;

The pursing of the lips, the quick intake of air, and the quick breath out again.

It's quite romantic. Io peer at something as powerful as a flame disappearing in an instant. Vanishing before your eyes, almost too quick to see.

It's artistry has been used to signify the end of films, ends of scenes or transitions.

The signs that someone has died or that something bad is about to happen.

The last thing you do before you drift off to sleep, as you roll over to give your child a goodnight kiss.

So many scenes, so many possibilities But you know what doesn't change?

The candle.
